Our approach is to design and develop high-performance products with the lowest possible impact on the environment. Our sustainable engagements are guiding our strategic decisions: choice of materials, technology, manufacturing, transport and company policy.

OUR COMMITMENTS AND SPECIFIC ACTIONS

Waste Management and recycling

Our products comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. The WEEE directive sets targets for the collection, recycling and recovery for all types of electrical equipment. At the end of a product’s life, it is possible to separate components to recycle those that can be recovered (battery, motherboard, cables, plastic covers and shells, cardboard packaging).
Idmed maintains a contract with ECOSYSTEM, an eco-organization approved by the French energy transition agency for waste electrical equipment, as well as a contract with B&P Environnement, that organizes the collection and recycling of production waste. All product manufacturing waste that can be recycled is sorted. Sorting bins are available on the premises.

Delivery and shipping

The packaging we use is made from recyclable materials (cardboard and foam).
Packaging design has been optimized to reduce volume and weight.
The transport of our products is carried out by carriers who have a policy of environmental responsibility to reduce CO2 emissions such as DHL’s Go Green or UPS’ carbon neutral systems which offsets its carbon emissions.

Supplier selection

Our suppliers comply with the European RoHS directive 2011/65/ EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical hazardous substances in electrical equipment.
Through responsible collaboration with our suppliers we develop long-term relationships that improve product quality, workers’ rights and environmental protection.
We also ask our suppliers to sign a Code of Conduct as a guarantee of quality, and to ensure compliance with ethical and environmental practices.

Technological choices

100% of our product ranges offer reusable (rather than disposable) accessories, which
means a massive reduction in waste when using our products.
Our development policy encourages the reparability of our products, increasing their durability and avoiding the generation of unnecessary waste.
We have decided to equip our devices with rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries rather than single-use batteries.
Our devices are equipped with a micro-controller that optimises energy consumption by putting unused modules on standby. Standby mode reduces energy consumption by up to 600 times.

Ethical behavior and employee commitment

We apply our spirit of innovation to reduce our impact on the environment by proactively seeking solutions to environmental, health and safety issues throughout our value chain.
We have a contract with a waste management company that organises the collection and recycling of Idmed’s operational waste.
We make sure that these issues are taken into account in all our strategic decisions, from product design to manufacturing and plant operation.
Every employee is made aware of «eco-gestures» and waste sorting:
– Computers are switched off when not in use.
– Lights have motion detectors to reduce unnecessary consumption.
– Heating and air-conditioning are set at the optimum temperature.
– Paper printouts are kept to a minimum and we use recycled paper.
– We use eco-certified printers for our marketing materials
(imprim’vert certification)
– In the kitchen area, crockery is made available to employees to
avoid the use of disposable tableware.
To limit our ecological impact, trains and electruc vehicles are preferred for business travel.
We have parking spaces designed for charging electric cars.
